Parents/BCS Supporters,
Italian Night is this Friday night at BCS from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Don't forget to bring items to the school Friday morning if you signed up to bring things for pizzas to be made. Please send in your forms no later than Thursday, so we will have a count on how many people to expect. Tell anyone you can about this fundraiser for Boyd Christian School. From the Superintendent

Over the course of the next few weeks, we will have some surveys posted online for our parents to complete. These surveys are concerned with the quality of the school and are an important part of our accreditation process. Each week we will have a different survey posted. Please take a few minutes to fill out this week’s survey for us, if you have not already done so. The survey will close this Friday. The survey can be found at this web address:

Please remember the PTF meeting tonight at 6:30 in the school cafeteria. Also, please remember the Italian Night this Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. This fundraiser will feature lots of good Italian food, so please come out and support this event.

Spring school pictures will be taken on March 11. This will not be the day for kindergarten cap and gown pictures, however. Those photos will be taken at a later date.

Report cards will be distributed Tuesday, March 2. Parent-Teacher conferences will be Tuesday, March 9.

Talent Show Saturday, March 13

Please remember the Talent Show on Saturday evening, March 13. Interested students should sign up in the front office.

Papa John’s Pizza Night This Wednesday

Papa John's Pizza Night is this Wednesday, February 24th. Papa John's Pizza will contribute 20% of the order to BCS! The Homeroom teacher with the highest pizza sales wins a free pizza party. Order Forms will be sent home with each student.




Volunteers Needed

We are in desperate need of a couple of volunteers who would be willing to work up to ten hours per week assisting Mrs. Terry Stubblefield in the reception area in the front office. Duties would include answering the phone, taking messages, greeting visitors, and other duties in the reception area. If you would be interested in volunteering to help in this way, please contact Terry or me here at school.

The cost is only $12 per ticket for members of our school community. Please go ahead and order those as soon as possible if you would like to attend. Tickets should be delivered during March, but we have already had to pay for them.

4H Meeting on Tuesday!

February 4-H Club Meeting: Tuesday, February 16
Contest: 4-H Demonstration
4-H members should bring an item to show how to make or dosomething related to a 4-H project. Demonstrations need to be no longerthan 2 to3 minutes and all demonstrations must be accompanied with aposter. Live animals are not allowed. Demonstrations can be written over any 4-H topic, suchas...animals, agriculture, safety, foods/health/fitness, arts & crafts,citizenship, or leadership. Everyone who gives their demonstration inclass will receive a 4-H ribbon and a stamp. Ten county winners will beselected in each grade and will be recognized at the 4-H Awards Banquet.5th and 6th grade county winners may advance to the Region Contest.Complete details and rules are located on page 14 of the 4-H Yearbook.Educational Program (to be taught by 4-H Agents): ATV SafetyReminder: Students were given a home fire escape plan to take home andcomplete. Each 4-H member who brings their completed plan to theFebruary 4-H meeting will receive an extra clover stamp.

Parents/BCS Supporters,
The magazine sale will be extended to next Wednesday, February 17th. Students.....don't forget an individual sale of 8 items and a family sale of 16 items will earn you a FREE DAY OFF FROM SCHOOL on March 22nd. Those of you who want to turn your money in this Wednesday or Thursday may still do so.

There are scrip cards available in the office for Pizza Hut, Wal-Mart, and Applebee's. Just get with Terry Stubblefield regarding these cards.

There has been a t-shirt order form sent home due to parents requesting us to order shirts. We have to have an order of at least 10 shirts, so please return your order form as soon as possible.

The next PTF Meeting has been scheduled for 2-22-10 at 6:30 in the BCS cafeteria. We will be discussing final plans for Italian Night the 26th. There is a list in the office for those of you who would like to help on Italian Night.

Volunteers Needed

Book Fair

Our Book Fair continues this week until February 11 from 8:00 AM to 2:45 PM. The Family Night will be tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. There will be four chances to win $25 in books at Family Night. Mrs. Shelley Rhoton always does a tremendous job organizing the Book Fair and is able to acquire new books and resources as a result of the fair. Last year she was able to acquire over $5,000 worth of books for the library. Thank you for your support of this event.

Talent Show Saturday, March 13

On Saturday evening, March 13, the Senior Class will be sponsoring a Talent Show. Students of all ages are invited to enter. Seniors will be distributing entry forms within the next week.

Middle School Basketball Tournament

Due to the bad weather, the Middle School Basketball Tournament has been rescheduled. The tournament is now scheduled to begin his Thursday, February 4. When we know when Boyd is scheduled to play, we will pass that information along.

Book Fair

Our Book Fair will be held February 8-11 from 8:00 AM to 2:45 PM. The Family Event will be on Tuesday, February 9 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Mrs. Shelley Rhoton always does a tremendous job organizing the Book Fair and is able to acquire new books and resources as a result of the fair. Thank you for your support of this event.

Booster Club

The first meeting for the athletic booster club has been rescheduled for next Monday, February 8, at 6:30 in the school cafeteria. Mr. Steve Hillis will serve as chairman of the club and Mr. John Duncan will serve as the treasurer. Mr. Hillis has recently been appointed to serve as our athletic director. He replaces Mr. Dale Stubblefield, who had to resign due to an increase in his workload at the Southern Standard.









Upcoming Chorus Events

Due to the bad weather, the Chorus was not able to travel to Murfreesboro last Saturday to sing the at the women’s basketball game between MTSU and North Texas. We are looking for another date when we can reschedule this event.
