Welcome Back Students!

...And we are off... to a great start! I was so happy to meet students in the parking lot this morning with the school camera. Everyone loves flash in their faces at 7:30 a.m., right? We truly are so thankful you have chosen to share your children with us this school year. I just left elementary chapel and my heart is so full of joy! Mr. Burks gave a wonderful talk on God wanting us to do our best every day, for ourselves, for each other, for our school, and most importantly for Him. All ears were listening and attentive. Please ask your children about their first day and look out for many smiles!

It is hard to believe that our first day is literally just a week away! I am completely overwhelmed at the support, kindness, devotion and selflessness displayed by so many individuals this summer. We could not have done this overhaul of the buildings without you... EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU! From those who painted for a few hours, to those who purged storage in the barns, to those who repainted bathroom partitions and replaced them,  to those who held open gyms for our sports teams, to those who cleaned carpets, pressure washed, planted flowers, ripped out carpet, tallied drink sales, to those who moved my office furniture back while I was out of town, I am grateful. So grateful that words cannot contain my pride in our school.

It takes a dedicated group to do all that we accomplished this summer. And our school looks amazing! We have added so many new faces- both students and teachers- and Mr. Herb Alsup, our fundraiser. I feel so blessed to be in this role- serving you all and your children. I pray that God will use me this year to help grow our school.

 It will take every single one of us every single day to grow Boyd into what it can be! It cannot happen overnight, but it can happen...it WILL happen.

Please remember to make your 100 for 100 pledges and volunteer when you can. And please, please remember we appreciate every family so much.

Gearing Up for a Great Year

7-20-12 Dear Parents: The BCS PTF is working on a cookbook for fall and Holiday sales. We need your help! We want EVERYONE in our Boyd family to be a part of this cookbook. Please send 3-5 recipes to school or email them to us per student in your family. Please feel free to share why this recipe is special or honor someone with your submittal. For example, I may send my mother’s Banana Bread recipe and title it Banana Bread, submitted by: Tabetha Sullens in honor of Terry Newport. On the other hand, if you have a special memory of a particular recipe, feel free to share that with us, too! We look forward to compiling this book. We are very excited to be a part of such a wonderful school.
