From the Superintendent
I hope that all of you have a safe and pleasant week next week. Tomorrow, our staff will be involved in another inservice day which will focus on our school improvement plan, which is the next step in our process to become SACS accredited. Earlier this year, Tabetha Sullens distributed surveys to many of our families and others in the community. I want to thank all of you who took the time to complete those and return them to us. Your feedback is critical to this process.
Last week I had the opportunity to attend the national conference of the National Christian Schools Association. Not surprisingly, many of the conference sessions this year dealt with the subject of managing Christian schools in difficult economic times!
As most of you know, we use the Edline online service which parents can use to tekeep informed about their child’s progress and assignments. While at the conference, I learned more about a service called Ren-Web. Some schools who were former Edline customers have switched to Ren-Web because of its user-friendly qualities. It also gives parents the capability of doing things like paying tuition by automatic bank draft and ordering school lunches from home. After we return from spring break, I would like for a few parents to join me in an online tutorial with the company representative. I would like to get feedback from parents before we decide to make any change. If you would be willing to volunteer to observe a demonstration, please contact me or Terry here at school.
