From the Superintendent
School pictures will be made on Thursday, September 18. Please mark this date on your calendar.
Please be aware that this will be the last week that we send home printed copies of the newsletter to all students. The newsletter is now available on the school website on Mrs. Sullens’ blog page. Please read the newsletter online. If you still would like a printed copy, they will be available in the office. You may have your child pick up a copy if needed.
As previously announced, Mrs. Sullens is now working as our director of development. Mrs. Sullens is working very hard and is having success raising money for the school. One project she has begun is the Kroger gift card program. This is a way for the school to get a 4% cash refund on all purchases our families make at Kroger. There is absolutely no cost to the family. It is basically free money for the school. All you have to do is have money loaded onto the card, and then use the card to pay at checkout.
Another program that pays cash rewards to the school is the SchoolPop program. We can earn 1 to 20 percent from 200 different online retailers. Please check that website at http://www.schoolpop.com to register. Please contact Mrs. Sullens for more information about these programs.
Book Fair Begins September 26
Please remember our Book Fair which will run from September 26 to October 1. Mrs. Shelley Rhoton, our librarian, always does an outstanding job with the fair. She always needs parents to volunteer, however. If you are able to assist Mrs. Rhoton, please contact her. Thank you for your support of this event.
Applefest September 27
The date for this year’s Applefest will be Saturday, September 27, from 3:00 to 7:00. This is one of the biggest fundraising events of the year for L.A.C.E. More information will be made available soon.
Fair News
Students who are interested in entering the “Fairest of the Fair” contest may pick up a copy of the entry form at the front desk.
Guidance News
Students should regularly check the guidance page on the school website. Mrs. Mayfield does an outstanding job of posting valuable information, especially for students who will attend college soon.
Fair Booth
We are seeking volunteers to help work at this year’s Fair food booth. If you are able to assist with this, please contact Mr. Stan Pickens at the school.
