Student Council will host a Pep Rally for the 7th & 8th grade basketball teams today at 2:30. They will also have an “Orange Out” at the game tonight. Please show your Boyd spirit by wearing the color orange in support of the players. The Thursday night game against Centertown will be played at 6:15 instead of 6:00. GO BRONCO’S!!!

On Friday, January 13th, Student Council will have a “Hat Day” fundraiser for all students. If you would like to participate, please bring $1 to your first period class. There will also be a BEST HAT AWARD!

Homecoming festivities have been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 28 at 4:00. (Please see attachment for tentative Homecoming and Spirit Week agenda.)

Congratulations to Saylor Hodges, daughter of Holly Hodges and granddaughter of James & Donna Goolsby, for winning the 2012 Pre-Teen Miss Nursery Capital Pageant!

Kaylee Hash (4th Grade) will be collecting coke tabs for the Ronald McDonald House as her 4-H project. She would like for each class to save their tabs and bring to their first period class every Friday. The final turn in date will be Friday, Feb. 17th. Mrs. Barbara Hash, grandmother of Kaylee, will provide the winning class ice cream from the cafeteria! The competition for the most tabs will be between the elementary, middle, and high school.

January 13th is the deadline to register for the A.C.T. on February 11th. (Dates are posted on the guidance counselor door.)
On Jan. 31st, the Child Advocacy Center will conduct a child abuse program in the cafeteria at 6:00. All parents are welcome.

Yearbooks will go on sale beginning today through next Wednesday, Jan. 18th. As mentioned during the Pre-Sale, yearbooks are now $40.00. Students, in grades 6-12, who purchase their book by Jan. 18th, will be invited to the Yearbook Lock-In on March 9th. This includes those who purchased during the Pre-Sale. We will send out more information concerning the Lock-In as events and plans are finalized. We would like to thank all of those who purchased their yearbooks during the Pre-Sale. We have sold 112 so far. We do not want anyone to feel left out when we distribute the books in May; however, we will not be ordering extras. Students must purchase by Jan. 18 in order to receive a book.

Thank you for your support,
2011-2012 Yearbook Staff

Please make plans to attend our upcoming book fair Jan 30 – Feb 2. Save your loose change to buy books for the library. Our boys and girls will be competing against each other to see who can bring in the most coins to buy library books. Jars will be setup in the library the entire month of January to drop off loose change. The winners will play games on the computers during their regular library time the week after the book fair.

Thank you,
Shelley Rhoton
