Bi-Lo Boosters

Dear Parents, Grandparents, Faculty, Staff & Supporters of BCS:
We are participating in Bi-Lo's Boosters Plus fundraising program this year. We can earn FREE money for BCS by simply shopping at Bi-Lo as you usually do with your bonus card. Just give one BCS enrollment card to your cashier ONE TIME and she will swipe it with your bonus card. You can then throw your enrolment paper card away and BCS will earn one percent of everything BCS families buy at Bi-Lo. There will be four enrollment cards on the sheet your child is bringing home today. You may give the other three to friends at church, grandparents, aunts, uncles or neighbors. Thank you for your participation. This costs us nothing and earns money for Boyd. Your child will bring these home Thursday or Friday. If you have questions, email Mrs. Sullens at info@fcbcs.org.

From the Superintendent

We are eagerly looking forward to our Bring a Friend to School Day next Tuesday, November 4. This is the only day of the year that we will be in school when Warren County Schools are closed. We are asking all students in grades K-11 to talk to their friends who might be interested in attending Boyd. We would like for each student who is able to bring one friend to school with them on that day. We hope to have many potential students join us on that day. Registration forms will go home this week. These must be signed and returned by the parents/guardian of the guest student.

Please remember that school will be closed on Monday, November 3, for Christian Schools Inservice Day. Our teachers will be traveling to Goodpasture Christian School in Nashville for this event.

Our annual Thanksgiving Lunch will be on Friday, November 21. The lunch will once again be catered by Wilma Jean’s Kitchen. Mrs. Sullens will be sending more information home this week. We hope that many of you will be able to join us for lunch on that day.

Many of you have recently purchased scrip cards from Mrs. Sullens. Those cards have now arrived. Please contact her if you have not received yours. This is an excellent way to help the school raise money. If you have not yet had a chance to see Tabetha about scrip cards, please do so.

Some of you may be aware of his son, John Mark Stallings, who recently passed away. Coach Stallings has spoken at other Christian schools in the area and is widely regarded for being a very inspirational speaker.

This year’s banquet will be sponsored by Dr. Pepper Bottling Company. Mr. Doug Milner, the general manager, has long been a generous supporter of high school sports and of Boyd Christian School. We are grateful to Mr. Milner for his support of this event.

Bring A Friend Day

October 24, 2008

Dear Parents:

On Tuesday, November 4, we will be hosting our first “Bring a Friend to School Day”. This is the only day of the year that we will be open that Warren County Schools will be closed. We believe that our students are our best ambassadors for Boyd, and we want to encourage them to do everything they can to help us attract new students.

We are asking every student in grades K-11 to try to bring at least one friend to school with them on November 4. This will be, for the most part, a normal day of school here. Guests will follow a normal school schedule and will do the same classroom assignments that our students do. They will eat lunch with us, and we will have a special chapel service in the morning. We believe that this will be an excellent opportunity for other children to come and see for themselves what life at Boyd Christian School is like.

Although we have specified students in grades K-11, seniors may also bring younger guests. It is probably not appropriate to bring other seniors as guests, unless they are seriously interested in transferring to Boyd for the second semester of this year.

We will be sending home with your child registration forms for their guests. These will need to be completed and signed by the parents or guardians of your child’s guests. It is very important that we get this information back by Friday, October 31. We need to know exactly how many guests to expect, and we must have their parents’ permission. In addition, we want to stress that guests will have to abide by all of our school rules. For example, cell phones should be turned in to the school in the morning and retrieved upon leaving. Guests will be required to follow all aspects of our dress code, including hair length and facial hair for boys.

If you have any questions regarding Bring A Friend To School Day, you may contact either Mrs. Sullens or me here at school. You may also send questions via e-mail to info@fcbcs.org. Also, Mrs. Sullens is trying to get an e-mail address for every family. If you have an e-mail address, please send that to her.

We are looking forward to a wonderful day, and we hope to have many students join us.

Thank you

Good Luck Tonight

Good Luck to the Lady Bronco's Middle school team tonight!

Thank You to Homeland Community Bank

As we congratulate three of our students Christian, Hunter, and Brent on being chosen to serve on the Youth Advisory Board, we also want to praise Homeland Community Bank for hosting such an excellent program. Cindy Rogers, John Duncan, Ray Talbert, Ronnie Wilson, and Joyce Britton gave a wonderful welcome, invocation, and a very informative presentation on the program. The students also joined others from the community for some refreshments and their first meeting. We are grateful for the opportunity for Boyd students to serve in such a beneficial venue.

October 20,2008 Welcome Back

From the Superintendent

I hope that everyone had a safe and restful Fall Break. We here at Boyd are happy to see everyone back, and we look forward to the rest of the semester. We have several exciting events planned.

Please remember that on Tuesday, November 4, we will be having Bring a Friend to School Day. This is the only day of the year that we will be in school when Warren County Schools are closed. We are asking all students in grades K-11 to talk to their friends who might be interested in attending Boyd. We would like for each student who is able to bring one friend to school with them on that day. This will give their friends an opportunity to see what life here at Boyd is like. This week we will be sending home a registration form for any visitors that may want to join us.

I just received mine, and Boyd made over $40 just off of the cards I bought. I did not have to spend one cent more than I normally would anyway. If you have not yet had a chance to see Tabetha about scrip cards, please do so.

Boyd Improvement Project (Scavenger Hunt)
Oct. 20, 21, 22

This year the annual Scavenger Hunt’s main purpose is to improve our school. Except for the tabs which will go to the Ronald McDonald House, everything will benefit Boyd Christian School. With the Penny War, we want to buy more microwaves for the cafeteria. With other money raised, we want to get picnic tables for under the shade trees, swings for the playground, paint for the high school building and other worthy projects. Please help us help Boyd.
Thanks,
